The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has hinted that the 2019 general elections may be suspended following threats of violence by some politicians in the country.
PoliticsNGR gathered that INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu made this comment on Tuesday while reacting to some disturbing videos of Political campaigns on Social media with some politicians threatening to shed blood.

No card reader in electoral bill – Presidency
The Presidency on Monday said the card reader was not included in the latest Electoral Act (Amendment) Bill 2018, which President Muhammadu Buhari declined assent to.

Appeal Court halts arrest of INEC chairman, Mahmood Yakubu
The Court of Appeal, Abuja division, has stopped the warrant of arrest issued against the Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, Mahmood Yakubu, by Justice Stephen Pam of the Federal High Court.
A 3-man panel led by Justice Abdul Aboki suspended the enforcement of the arrest warrant in a ruling it delivered today, Monday August 13th. Professor Mahmood had filed an appeal before the court, asking that the warrant of arrest issued last week, by Justice Pam, be set aside.

Over 20,000 security personnel for Ekiti guber poll – CP
The Commissioner of Police, Ekiti State Command, Bello Ahmed, Friday revealed that over 20,000 security personnel would be deployed for the gubernatorial election in Ekiti State, scheduled for 14th July, 2018.

A former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Maurice Iwu, has denied ever speaking with any newsman on the controversial certificate of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Iwu, in a statement on Thursday, said he was baffled to have been told that he was quoted by an online medium, Igbere TV, as having confirmed that Buhari possesses no certificate.
