Tears flowed freely at the Sango axis of the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway in Ogun State, South-west, Nigeria when a forklift rolled back from the bridge unto the service lane and crushed four persons to death.
Three other persons were seriously injured in the sad incident that occurred in front of the Police Officers' wives Associate (POWA) Shopping Complex at about 6:30pm.
The casualties were made up of a woman, whose age was put at about 35, while the children, all girls, were below 10 years of age
Similarly, the injured ones were a woman and two girls.Ironically, all the victims were from the northern extraction, and street beggars, who stationed themselves at the foot of the bridge.

Crimepuzzle reported that efforts by successive Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and Area Commanders to dislodge the beggars from the spot, to guide against incidents of this nature, were met with stiff opposition and petitions, a development that classified them as untouchable.
Meanwhile, the four deceased victims have been deposited in the mogue of the State Hospital, Onipanu-Otta, while medical officers are currently battling to revive the injured ones.
