Fire Destroys Traders Goods Worth Millions In Kaduna Market (Photos)


The old Panteka Market in Kaduna state was gutted by fire in the early morning on Friday 1/12/2017. Panteka market is the main hub of building materials in the state capital. A joint assessment team comprising of Nema NW Nigeria and Kaduna SEMA discovered that thousands of shops were reduced to ashes in the fire incident.



The fire was said to have occurred at about 2:00 am. Goods and products worth millions of naira were destroyed in the incident.

The cause of the fire yet to be known, but some of the traders believed that it may have been ignited by electric malfunction.

Most of the traders affected by the incident could not salvage anything from their shops.
