A retired Mobil staff, Dr. Idongesit Udom, has talked about his ordeal in the hands of the kidnappers and also shared a photo of the hijackers cut hands even after paying N5million ransom.
He was kidnapped along with two expatriates working with Mobil Of a hotel in Eket on April 9. Udom, the owner of the Sure Polytechnic Foundation, Ukanafun Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, regained his freedom on May 10, after a month in the kidnappers' den.

”Though I was released with my right hand cut off, I am eternally grateful to my God for the new life. My life was over. Thanks to the government of Akwa Ibom State, all the pastors, ExxonMobil friends, all other FRIENDS and relatives who have provided for my hospital requirements…Elder Dr Idongesit Demas Udom.”
