Pakistani High Court Bans Valentine’s Day; See Their Reason

Pakistan has become the latest country to ban Valentine’s Day after a judge yesterday ruled on Valentine’s Day, putting a ban on celebrating the Christian holiday..

A city-wide blackout on all V-Day promotions was also
enforced.
According to newspaper Dawn, court petitioner, Abdul Waheed said
that it violated Islamic teachings.

He said that instead of love, it promoted “immorality, nudity and indecency,”
The ruling was handed down by the Islamabad High Court, following an unsuccessful attempt to ban the festival last year.

Last year President Mamnoon Hussain urged Pakistanis not to observe Valentine’s Day, which he criticised as a Western import that threatened to undermine Islamic values..

He said;

“Valentine’s Day has no connection with our culture and it should be avoided,”
