KadPoly Lecturers Suspend One Month Strike

The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Kaduna Polytechnic chapter, has suspended its one-month-old strike.
Chairman of the union in the institution, Dr. Aliyu Ibrahim, announced the suspension of its ongoing strike.

He said in a communiqué that the decision to suspend the strike was reached as a result of arbitration meeting organizsed by the Executive Secretary National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Kaduna Polytechnic principal officers and ASUP EXCO.

The union agreed to suspend the strike after the management of Kaduna Polytechnic has agreed to commence the immediate payment of the two months outstanding arrears of Peculiar Academic and Hazard Allowances (PA&HA).

The congress of ASUP had on 30th December, 2016, directed that until the five months arrears of peculiar academic and hazard allowances are fully paid, the strike would continue.
