Oh Lord! So Onigbinde Slams Sunday Oliseh and Tackles NFF

Adebgboye Onigbinde insists Sunday Oliseh was a wrong decision as Eagles coach.

Former Super Eagles coach and FIFA technical instructor, Adebgoye Onigbinde has insisted that Sunday Oliseh is an undisciplined individual which is responsible for his recent woes.

The veteran football administrator in Football Live disclosed that the NFF got it all wrong when it turned the technical committee into a lame duck thereby leading to the appointment of a ‘rookie coach’ who had no experience in similar roles in the past.

‘Remember Mali (2002 Afcon), he came down as the leadership of the team and was insulting the Minister (Sports), is this not a continuation? You (NFF) didn’t consider that when you (NFF) were employing him; that’s number one,’ Onigbinde said.

He continued by saying, ‘Number two, what was the depth of his experience? He has not coached a major club, he has not coached any national team and you now want him to perform experiment, to learn using the Nigerian national team; that is why I feel hurt. So these are the reasons why I asked – should he have been appointed at all from the beginning?’

Onigbinde believes to get thing right in the football organization, the right people needs to be in the NFF technical committee.

‘The President, the Clerk, the messenger are all there to service the product of the technical committee and if the technical committee is not given the right of position, we will never get it right. The right of position starts from the composition of the committee itself. We knew the behaviour of this young man even when he was just the captain of the national team.’
