
The governorship candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in the Saturday Governorship election in Kogi State, Prince Abubakar Audu has been confirmed dead.
Audu was said to have complained of stomach ache on Saturday shortly after voting and returning to his country home in Ogbonicha, Ofu Local government, and was advised to take a rest.
Though some said he had died as early as 10am today, other sources said he slumped and died after the Independent National Electoral Commission declared the result of the election inconclusive.
He is to be buried this morning according to Muslim rites.
His opponent at the polls, Idris Wada who is the incumbent governor of the state has declared seven days mourning for the late Audu.
