The victims were identified as Dangrugu, who was shot in the head, and one Alhaji, who was shot in the eye.

Apart from the Railway area, the gunmen reportedly laid siege to Obanle, Oniyanrin, and Aliwo streets where they damaged vehicles and looted shops.
When we visited the area on Monday, one of the injured residents, who gave his name as Sanni Umar, said the hoodlums asked him for money and when he could not meet their demand, they cut him in the head with a cutlass.
He said, “I was relaxing in front of my apartment. The gunshots rented the air for several minutes. As I made to enter my apartment, two of them blocked me and asked for money.
“I told them I did not have any money. He cut me in the head with a cutlass. Other people were hit by bullets. None of the robbers was arrested by the police.”
Another resident, who gave his name as Babatunde, identified the gunmen as Giwa Boys, who he said, were led by one Wuraola, and often engaged in supremacy battles.
He said, “From the Railway line to Gaskiya College area, they can burst into any street and shoot at residents. On Thursday, three people were shot, while two were hacked. A man was shot in the eye.
“They carted away people’s gold and jewellery. When we called the police, they responded but the hoodlums had escaped. As of Sunday, one of those rushed to the hospital had died.”
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed the incident, but added that the police did not have any record of death.
He said, “We are on the trail of the hoodlums. Investigations are also ongoing. We do not have any record of death.”
