Veteran Hollywood actor, George Clooney shocked everyone when he announced he was getting married to Amal Alamuddin. At 53 years old Clooney had resigned himself to a lifetime of bachelorhood after swearing he would never get married.

When he accepted his lifetime achievement award at last night’s Golden Globes, he talked about his new wife in a way that melted the heart of the whole room 

After addressing his career achievements, Clooney turned to his new bride who was sitting in the audience and said,

It’s a humbling thing when you find somebody to love, especially when you’ve been waiting your whole life.

He added,

Whatever alchemy it is that brought us together, I couldn’t be more proud to be your husband
