Paying tribute to his beloved mom in the New Year, Kanye West released a new track called “Only One,” a collaboration with Paul McCartney, on New Year’s Day. However, the “Black Skinhead” rapper says the late Donda West also had a hand in penning the single as a means of communicating with his daughter North West.
Kanye explained that he was writing with McCartney when all of a sudden he started singing to North, “Hello, my only one,” and he knew it was his mom’s spirit.

The song might also be the first sign of a larger project between West and McCartney, as a rep for the rapper describes "Only One" as the first "publicly available recording from what has become a prolific musical collaboration between these two legendary artists."
