Oyo State Female Gubernatorial Aspirant, Bolanle Sarumi Aliyu To Train 100,000 Nigerians in Different Vocational Skills

The governorship candidate of National Interest Party and the second female gubernatorial aspirant Oyo State has ever had, Bolanle Sarumi-Aliyu has pledged her support for the DSIgate Skill for Free 2019 project.

She made this known during the Oyo Governorship Debate organized by Beat and Naija FM and supported by DSIgate where she promised to sponsor the registration of 100,000 people for the project.

This she declared, is her own way of empowering the people of Oyo state to achieve financial independence. According to her, the matter of minimum wage is a non-issue in a state where most structures are set to frustrate the efforts of hardworking Nigerians.

DSIgate has responded to this development by showing her readiness to train the people of Oyo State by mid-January. DSIgate Skill for Free 2019 aims to empower 5 million Nigerians Across the 36 States and the FCT.

#SMUGGLING: Customs Places Red Flag on Ogun State

The Nigeria Customs Service says it has placed a red flag on the activities of smugglers in Ogun State, especially during the yuletide.

The Area Controller, Ogun Area Command, Michael Ojobo Agbara, disclosed this to newsmen at the Idiroko Border Command on Tuesday.

The Controller expressed worry about the increasing use of motorcycles in conveying smuggled items, with little regards for its dire risks.

Agbara however restated the resolve of the command’s officers and men at intensifying efforts in carrying out their statutory responsibility.

He maintained that customs will continue to campaign and sensitise members of the border community

According to him, “We have placed a red flag on Ogun state. It is a no-go area. We are ready and ever willing to challenge anyone who engages in smuggling.

“The quantity of motorcycles being used to smuggle rice is fast becoming alarming, despite the associated risk attached to it.

“We are campaigning and sensitising the people on the negative effect of smuggling. Some of the traditional rulers are also assisting us.

“We have been deploying intelligence in our attempt to get rice smuggled by the motorcyclists because we can’t engage them when they are on motion.

“So what we do is to track them to their warehouse and seize them because the law allows us to do so. Some of them are more desperate this December period because of the festivities.

“We are doing this as our patriotic responsibility. If we encourage our farmers to grow rice, we will increase our various chain.

“Some of the rice that are being smuggled are contaminated because some of them have been kept in the warehouse for about 10 years.

“They may be the cause of some of the diseases people are having today”.

Tinubu Speaks On Why Buhari Must Continue

       

At a packed stadium, All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu yesterday announced the resolution of the progressives to support continuity of good governance.

“There is no going back in the resolve to return President Muhammadu Buhari for another term in office,” the former Lagos State governor said.

It was at the inauguration of Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola and Benedict Olugboyega Alabi as Osun State governor and deputy governor.

The colourful ceremony, attended by many dignitaries and ordinary folks, took place at the Osogbo Township Stadium in the state capital.

Tinubu said Nigerians could not afford to go back to the “scavengers, who personalised governance because of their greed”.

To the APC stalwart, there should be enough of greed and self-serving government that “has held back our progress as a nation”.

He stressed that there was nothing to show for the 16 years of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in power.

He said the PDP only laid the foundation for “greed” and “selfishness”.

The comedian however incurred the fury of his followers after he posted the video on Instagram justifying why Nigerians don’t need to have 24-hours electricity.


According to him, the Federal Government is teaching Nigerians time management which is why there is no 24hour electricity in the country.

He explained that if Nigerians had 24hour electricity, they would become lazy and sit around all day watching movies.

However, since Nigerians have limited power supply, they would value power more when they get it, and of course, make more proper use of it.


The comedian’s comments have however not gone down well with many people on social media, as some have taken to the platform to rain abuses and insults at him.

The woman identified as Keely Favell’s big tummy made her go to the hospital for a test. When pregnancy test came back negative, kelly thought she was just adding weight but her stomach kept getting bigger forcing her to return tio the hospital

Nigeria’s Ayobami ‘AY’ Makun and Omoni Oboli will make their debut in a Hollywood animation film, Elliott: The Littlest Reindeer.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the characters AY and Oboli would voice in the film scheduled to premiere on December 14, however, remain unknown.

The Christmas-themed film also features Hunger Games star, Josh Hutcherson, Dead pool actress, Morena Baccarin, Jeff Dunham, Martin Short, and John Cleese.

24-Year-Old Lady Who Has Been Raped By Her Father For 12 Years Finally Speaks Out..

24-year-old Zizo Apleni decided to speak about her rape ordeal at the start of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence in South Africa.

Zizo is a gender activist and has written the book, My Father Took My Innocence after she was raped by her father between 2001 and 2013. She was seven when the first incident occurred.

Zizo said she used to visit her father often.

“As I was young, I didn’t know what he was doing was wrong. I only found out what he was doing after our hostel manager taught us not to have sex with our boyfriends.


“When I got home, I told my father what our hostel manager told us. He started threatening me and said I should never report it, because no one would believe me.”

Her mum didn’t know about it until 2013, when Zizo fell pregnant.

An Itsekiri Elder Pays Bride Price of His Late Wife Because He Did Not Pay When They Got Married..

A Highly placed Itsekiri chief, Thomas Ereyitomi, has reportedly gone to pay the brideprice of the first woman in his life, Caroline Okorodudu, who died a few weeks ago.

According to Facebook user, Charles Pemu, who shared the story online, Ereyitomi and Caroline were live in lovers for many years when he was still a struggling man and had children. Pemu in his post said immediately Ereyitomi made money and became wealthy, his taste in women upgraded and he began to go after other women. He abandoned his first love, Caroline, and later got married to another woman.

Few weeks ago, Caroline died mysteriously and the Chief decided he wanted to throw her a huge burial. However, the family of the deceased said they can only allow him bury their sister if he pays her bride price.

Accroding to Pemu, the chief on Sunday November 25th, led a delegation of his family members to the home of the deceased to pay her brideprice so he can bury her as his wife. Read what Pemu wrote on Facebook below..
